It's been awhile since I had any cycling posts. I don't know what's wrong with me! If you've been paying attention to what's going on in Memphis, you'd know of the progress in making the city more bicycle friendly; the
Greenline, bike lanes on Southern and plans for bike lanes on Madison - between Cooper and Watkins. Well, bike lanes along Madison have proven to be a controversial subject. There are several businesses (which I will no longer patronize) along that stretch of Madison, who oppose the plan. Area citizens who support bike lanes, had a "Bike Lane Buy In" day. People rode along Madison, stopping off and buying things from shops that DO support bike lanes along Madison. First stop: Boscos. It was a beautiful day for a leisurely ride. There have been murmurs of having a similar ride from Midtown to Downtown, stopping off at bars along Madison. Count. Me. IN!

Not long ago, the Peddler Bicycle Shop had their (3rd?) Tweed Ride. It was on St. Patty's day, so the idea was to ride - in our English Finery - to an Irish pub.
This was as we were getting ready to take off.

The tweed ride is such a good time. It kinda breaks up the monotony of riding for distance or speed every time you get on your bike for a group ride. Who doesn't need a bit of silly every now and then?!
When we arrived at Dublin House, it was packed, loud and there was a cover charge. Um...no thanks. So we headed across the street to Molly's. What says "While Irish Eyes are Smiling," more than a 1/2 & 1/2 margarita? I'm planning on grabbing Thai for Cinco de Mayo.
